Ferizy, the Easy Way to Buy Ferry…

Digitalization has penetrated in all business sectors in Indonesia. PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry with assistance from PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) launched Ferizy, a website for purchasing ferry tickets online. Passengers from Merak, Bakauheni, Ketapang, and Gilimanuk now can purchase tickets online at

This digitization on ticket purchases gets a pleasant reception from the public, indicates by the increase in the volume of online ticket purchases from June to July, which reached 20,000 purchases per day at the four ports. While on holidays, online ticket purchases reached 21,000 tickets.

So, what can be offered by Ferizy? Well, passengers can buy tickets from 60 days to 5 hours before departure. Transactions can be made via a smartphone or by visiting Alfamart outlets.

Later, you will be charged for administration fees according to the number of tickets purchased with a nominal value starting from IDR 1,000. Before buying, you must obtain an ID card number, passport, or driver’s license.

Digitalization Program to Reduce the Risk of COVID-19 Transmission

This collaboration is a form of support from Telkom for digital transformation in Indonesia. An online purchasing platform allows the community to buy tickets easily, quickly, and practically. From the business side view, the company will generate more profit as the website can serve up to 200 transactions per second!

If buying a ferry ticket is very convenient and easy, more people would likely to travel by ferry. The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir, attended the Ferizy inauguration ceremony on July 25, 2020, at the Merak Executive Terminal, Banten. At the occasion, Erick Thohir expressed a similar opinion about the convenience of buying tickets online.

According to him, Ferizy is in line with changes in the way of people conducting a transaction, from offline to online. The transformation from conventional ticket purchases to e-ticketing is part of BUMN’s efforts as service providers to spoil their consumers.

Aside from that, the e-ticketing can reduce the risk of COVID-19 contamination. With Ferizy, you don’t need to buy tickets ordinarily, queueing, and jostle with other passengers. You can travel comfortably even during a pandemic.
