The Definition of Digital Transformation

Digital transformation is believed to be the main “weapon” in the Industrial Revolution 4.0. You might be wondering, what is the definition of digital transformation that it determines the future of the industrial world?

For businessmen who wish to be successful, please start to get to know the digital transformation. We would like to tell you upfront that bringing digital transformation into your business is not an instantaneous transformation.

First, you must have a strong commitment to change and consistent in leveraging technology in all aspects of your business and corporate services.

Definition of Digital Transformation

Digital transformation is a process of transformation where it requires a drastic transition from conventional business processes to the digital business processes. In short, it is not limited to business processes, but you must turn your company services into user-friendly services.

In its application, digital transformation requires your business to perform massive uses of various types of technology, such as data analytics, automation, cloud computing, and several other services that we will introduce to you one by one.

Before going further, we need to know why digital transformation is needed. Well, with the advancement of time, businesses using impractical processes, a lot of procedures to complete, and requiring a high-cost system will no longer be able to compete with businesses using digital technology.

Businesses now cannot escape from digitalization and should now be starting to adopt a business process that is efficient, productive, and fast even at a minimal cost. All of these challenges can be answered by digital transformation.

Minimal Effort, Maximum Results!

A simple example of digital transformation is the use of Google Drive. In the past, people use a flash disk to transfer or send data, copy your data from computer to flash disk and the give the flash disk to the other person, the other person will copy data from flash disk to his/her computer.

Before the Google Drive era, people also send data via attachment in the email, but it is limited to size. Both flash disk and email attachment still considered as conventional, less efficient, takes time and effort, also costly. If the document is important, you can lose clients because of this long process.

However, with the digitization, local storage now turns to cloud storage. Google Drive is an example of cloud storage. With cloud storage, you can store, modified, or sharing files and documents in big size with no hassle, fast, and secure.

As long as people have a Gmail account, which is probably they do have a Gmail account, using Google Drive is very convenient and very easy. Sharing and managing files can be done in Google Drive.

When you work from home, the need to transfer files increases. That’s why Google Drive might come in handy. When you want to share files, you can upload files to Google Drive and copy a link to download the files and give the link to the person you want to share the document with.

When businesses run effectively and productively, the company can serve customers in a better way. The better the user experience, the more transactions can be handled. Eventually, you can gain more profit and increase revenue with a minimum effort.

The above example is just a small example of digital transformation. In reality, digital transformation covering a very broad area and can be applied in all types of business. Check our blogs regularly to learn more about digital transformation.
