The COVID19 pandemic has pushed the Ministry of Education and Culture to find various alternative ways to make the learning – teaching activity to be possible at the optimum level. The ministry has now come with a solution that is to carry a school digitalization in 2021. The minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim explains that school digitalization is the main focus of the ministry in 2021.
The Ministry of Culture and Education has prepared a budget amounted to Rp 1,175 billion to run the school digitalization program. He thinks that school digitalization is an anticipation measure against the pandemic if it is to continue. The Ministry, however, hopes that the pandemic will be over soon, but preparation measures need to carried out to anticipate any possibilities.
The digitalization will be started by completing the information technology infrastructure. One of them is by providing a computer and/or laptop in each school. The existence of a computer/laptop is important to ease the school activities that will be digital.
The laptop is meant for the teachers and students to use. Teachers can use the laptop to create online curricula, training, and other activities.
Previously, The Ministry of Culture and Education has issued a policy to give free internet credit for students and teachers during the COVID19 pandemic. The free internet credit is meant to let the students and teachers have an easy distant learning activity due to the pandemic.
